James William Hines, 76 retired from a foundry
James William Hines, 76, of North Vernon died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.
A graveside service for Mr. Hines is planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bear Creek Baptist Church in Jennings County with the Rev. Rick Clayton officiating. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services were entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Hines, a U.S. Army veteran, worked at Golden Casting in Columbus for 20 years, retiring in 2001. He attended Scipio School and was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodges in North Vernon and the American Legion in Seymour. Mr. Hines enjoyed dancing.
Born March 5, 1937 in Scipio, Mr. Hines was the son of Willard and Zella Lewis Hines.
Survivors include a daughter, Nita (Glenn) Knies of Indianapolis; four brothers, Edward (Georgia Ann) and Larry (Caroline) Hines, all of Scipio, Richard (Donna) Hines of Frankfort, and Randy (Laura Mae) Hines of Westport; sister, Kathy (Jim) Maness of Scipio and two grandchildren, Lindsey and Jonathan Knies of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials can be made through the funeral home for expenses.
