Betty Lou Scott Bear, 67

Betty Lou Scott Bear retriee of state hospital

Betty Lou Scott Bear, 67, of Madison, died Monday, October 14, 2014 at 5:37 p.m. at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison with Pastor Judy Howard-Stater officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Special services will be provided by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion Auxiliary Friday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.

Mrs. Bear retired from Madison State Hospital where she worked in food service. She was a member of the Faith Covenant Church in town Madison and a member of Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Bear enjoyed her computer, dancing and socializing with family and friends.

Born February 10, 1946 in Madison, Mrs. Bear was the daughter of Mary Charlotte Scott. She was raised by her grandparents, Ward and Betty Scott, of Vevay. She married Louis A. "Tony" Bear on March 2, 1974 in Hanover. He died July 19, 2000.

Survivors include sons, Robert (Sheryl Grubbs) Willhoite of Madison, Nathan E. (Michelle) Monroe of Madison and Louis A. "Tony" (Allison Sinkhorn) Bear of Milton, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jacqueline Jones, Scott Dylan Paul, Nathan C. Monroe, Robert Willhoite and Isabella Bear and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, grandparents and husband, Mrs. Bear was preceded in death by an infant son, Gary Lee Willhoite; a daughter, Charlotte K. Willhoite and an unnamed infant sister.

Memorial contributions to the Hospice of King's Daughters' Hospital or American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
