Ellen Louise Youngman enjoyed varied interests
Ellen Louise Youngman, 96, of North Vernon died at 1:39 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at her residence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. David Winget and Rev. John Booher officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 12:00 noon until time of service. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Youngman worked as a DST for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville for 12 years retiring in 1980 and previously worked for the former Regal Rugs Factory. She formerly attended North Vernon Wesleyan Church and attended the Spirit of Life Church in North Vernon. She was a member of North Vernon Home Economics Club since 1945, Jennings County Glee Club where she had performed in several states, the Rose Bowl and at Purdue University. Mrs. Youngman enjoyed music, singing, playing piano, quilting, sewing, yard work and traveling.
Born February 12, 1917 in Jennings County, Mrs. Youngman was the daughter of Joseph William and Mary Belle McGinty Craig. She married Francis Youngman on November 4, 1933. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1993.
Survivors include her children, William Francis Youngman of Sebring, Florida, Mary Ellen (John, Jr.) Booher of Moore Haven, Florida and Judith (David) Winget of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren, Kenneth (Kathleen) Youngman and Dale (Becky) Youngman both of Homestead, Florida, Jerry Youngman of California, Thomas Youngman and Rená (John Mark) Seiler both of Florida, John (Pam) Booher III and Joseph (Michelle) Booher, both of Sellersburg and Brian Wilkerson of North Vernon; 12 grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
