Elmer Alan Ferguson, 71, to be memorialized Friday
Elmer Alan Ferguson, 71, of Madison died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 1:35 p.m. at Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison with Pastor Mark Lee officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Olive Branch Cemetery near Madison.
Mr. Ferguson graduated in 1961 from Madison High School. He retired after 34 years of service as a machine operator for Reliance Electric Company. Mr. Ferguson was a member of the Brooksburg Baptist Church and enjoyed his grandchildren, University of Louisville sports, fishing, target practicing, gardening and feeding birds, especially hummingbirds.
Born December 23, 1941 in North Madison, Mr. Ferguson was the son of Louis F. Sr. and Edith Covington Ferguson. He married Frances Lorene Nugent on September 1, 1962 and she survives.
Other survivors include daughter, Diana Ferguson of Madison; two sons, Elliott (Tina) and Warren (Patty) Ferguson of Madison; two sisters, Ann (Chuck) Rector of Dupont and Becky Buchanan of Georgetown; grandchildren, Brandi (Alan) Bivens and Joseph (Sarah), Nathan (Ashley), Joshua (Kayla) Ferguson and great-grandchildren, Alexis, Brianna, Trenton, Abby, Colt, Kaytlynn and Chloe.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by brothers, William E. "Bill", Louis Franklin "Frankie" Jr., Mike and Don Ferguson.
