Donald Ervin, 82, in Army during Korean Conflict
Mr. Donald E. Ervin, 82, of Seymour died at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.
Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel Wednesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Steve Barrett officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery with a dove release. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to service on Wednesday.
Mr. Ervin, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Seymour. He was a construction worker for 50 years and a member of the Labor Union for 50 plus years.
Born June 29, 1931, in Morgantown, West Virignia, Mr. Ervin was the son of Joe and Avis Ervin. On December 1, 1956 in Seymour he married Mary E. Hudson, who survives.
In addition to his wife, survivor include his children, David Ervin and Brenda (George) Cook; grandchildren, Jennifer and Christine Cook; great-grandchild Caylin Cook; brother, Lewis Ervin and sister, Ella Jean Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bud Ervin.
