Dwayne Reed, 52, was Colts, IU, NASCAR fan
Dwayne F. Reed, 52, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus. He was a resident of Franklin.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Franklin Church of the Nazarene. Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the the service at the church. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Reed was a graduate of Franklin Community High School Class of 1979. He received his associates degree in construction technology from Ivy Tech Community College in 1984. He was a member of the Central Indiana Carpenters Union local 1775. Mr. Reed was a licensed building contractor and home inspector. He was a former Johnson County Sheriff Dept. reserve deputy.
Mr. Reed coached Little League baseball when his sons were younger. He enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, golf, was an avid IU basketball and Colts fan. He also enjoyed NASCAR. Mr. Reed was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family, friends and neighbors.
Mr. Reed was born on September 18, 1960 in Franklin to Floyd and Virginia (Motsinger) Reed. Survivors include his parents Floyd and Virginia Reed of Franklin; two sons, Brandon D. and Brett M. Reed both of Indianapolis; one sister, Sharon K. Hamilton of Paris Crossing; nephews Benjamin T. Hamilton (Tiffany) of Paris Crossing and Stephen F. Hamilton (Beth) of North Vernon; great nieces Taylor and Bella Hamilton of North Vernon; and great nephew Esker Hamilton of Paris Crossing. Also surviving are step-great nephews Gabrielle and Aydun Dean and step great niece Salem Wilson, all of Paris Crossing.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Bert and Martha Reed and maternal grandparents Lawrence and Alberta Motsinger.
