Elzie Ray Wagers Jr., 46, passes away at home
Elzie Ray Wagers, Jr., 46, of North Vernon, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. David Brown officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Wagers worked at Metaldyne for six years and Decatur Plastics for two years. He was a member of the New Freedom Baptist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR, hot rod cars, UFC fighting, Godzilla and the band KISS.
Born April 1, 1967 in Kentucky, Mr. Wagers was the son of Elzie Ray Sr. and Aline Whicker Wagers Garris. He married Peggy Allman on July 16, 1994 at the Grayford Road Church of God. She survives.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Wagers is survived by a daughter, Desirae Wagers of North Vernon; brother, Scottie (Laura) Wagers of North Vernon and a sister, Patty (Larry Patton) Wagers of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Jimmy Wagers and a sister, Charlotte Wagers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the New Freedom Baptist Church.
