WW II veteran Frederick S. Geisler, 88, to be laid to rest at Madison cemetery
Frederick S. Geisler, 88, of Seymour died Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Silver Oaks Healthcare Center in Columbus.
A gathering of friends and family was held Friday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Interment will be at a later date at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.
Mr. Geisler, a graduate of Ross High School in Ohio, was a WWII veteran and was stationed in the Philippines just before the end of WW II. He later worked as an auto mechanic and house painter. Mr. Geisler retired from Wente Electric. He was a member of IOK Four Wheelers, enjoyed building and inventing better ways for things to be used and driving his Jeep off road.
Born August 13, 1925, in Hamilton, Ohio, Mr. Geisler was the son of Stanley and Velta Maddaford Geisler. He married Betty Lou Wenert on February 22, 1947. She also died August 13, 2013.
Survivors include a son, Stanley (Debby) Geisler of Hamilton, Ohio; a daughter, Debbie (Donald) Mullins of Paris Crossing; two granddaughters, Amber Geisler and Heather (Joshua) Sharp; grandson, James (Tonya) Geisler; three great-granddaughters, Brinna, Clara and Ava Sharp and a great-grandson, Elias Sharp.
The family requests that memorials may be made through the funeral home to the donor's choice of charity.
