Sue Jo Redicker, 74, had taught school in Jennings
Sue Jo Redicker, 74, of Seymour died at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Connie Barr officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Mrs. Redicker taught for several years for the Jennings County School System at North Vernon Elementary. She was a member of Vernon Clionian Club, First Christian Church and a former member of New Bethel Church in Jennings County. She was a former Girl Scout Leader. Mrs. Redicker was a 1957 graduate of North Vernon High School and received her teaching degree from Indiana University. She enjoyed gardening, reading and family time with her grandkids.
Born July 14, 1939 in Shelbyville, Mrs. Redicker was the daughter of Rollie Wilbur Gahimer and Josephine (Robinson) Gahimer. She married Edward P. "Fats" Redicker on July 3, 1959 in Kentucky. He preceded her in death August 30, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna (Rusty) Bailiff of Seymour; brother, Gary (Jean) Struben of Gaston; three sisters, Lou Robbins, Jackie (Paul) Bower and Judy Castetter all of North Vernon; one stepsister, Sherry (Ted) Campbell of Columbus and three grandchildren, Devon Edward Moore, Andrew Bailiff and Cayton Bailiff, all of Seymour.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Redicker was preceded in death by her stepfather, Robert Struben; brother, Bruce Gahimer; stepbrother, Rick Struben and a stepsister, Anita Struben.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to New Bethel United Methodist Church.
