Gilbert V. Maschino, 88, worked the land all his life
Gilbert V. Maschino, 88, of Four Corners in Jennings County died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Four Corners on Saturday with Father Jonathan Meyer officiating. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery with a dove release.
Mr. Maschino was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Four Corners. He loved the land and spent his lifetime farming. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of North Vernon. Mr. Maschino also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Born September 28, 1924, in Jennings County, he was the son of the late Carl W. and Anna M (Gerth) Maschino. On March 2, 1957 at the Immaculate Conception in Millhousen, he married Rose Mary E. Stuhrenberg who survives.
In addition to his wife, survivors include children, Albert, Anna Marie, Mike (Peggy) and Joe Maschino and Rose (Allen) Riggle; brothers, Charles and Dale Maschino; sister, Mary Ann Gustin; grandchildren, Kari (Aaron) Bright, Michelle and Tonya Maschino, Heather and Dane Smolar, Victor and Leah Riggle and great-grandchild, Abel Bright.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Carol Maschino, an infant sister Elizabeth Maschino, and brothers Louis and Donald Maschino.
