Shirley Ann Webster Robbins, 75

Shirley Ann W. Robbins of Deputy active in GOP

Shirley Ann Webster Robbins, 75, of Deputy died at 4:08 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Deputy United Methodist Church in Deputy with Rev. Doug Chamness officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery near Deputy. Visitation is Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison and from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church. Hanover Chapter No. 525, Order of Eastern Star will conduct services Monday at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Robbins was a 1955 graduate of Paris Crossing High School and attended Hanover College and the Cincinnati Bible College. She retired in 2004 after 19 years of service with the Madison-Jefferson County License Branch in Madison. Mrs. Robbins had served as the Republican Precinct Committee Woman in Graham Township for over 20 years and was a member of the Hanover Chapter No. 525 Order of Eastern Star where she was Past Worthy Matron. Mrs. Robbins was a member of the Coffee Creek Baptist Church and attended Deputy United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, genealogy and history.

Born September 28, 1937 in Scottsburg, Mrs. Robbins was the daughter of Clarence and Kathryn Owens Webster. She married Robert Stanley "Bobby" Robbins on March 10, 1961 in Paris Crossing. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Stan (Miriam) Robbins of Deputy; brother, George (Sue) Webster of Paris Crossing; grandson, Bryan (Jodie) Green and great-grandchildren, Jenna, Jamen, Stanley, Austin, Autumn, Dougy and Aries.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Layman and a granddaughter, Catherine June "Cathy" Jones Harding.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Deputy United Methodist Church through the funeral home.

I didn't know Shirley well, but knew her brother George in high school. Please accept my sincere condolences.
