Elizabeth Louise Robbins worked for some of city's most historic employers
Elizabeth Louise Robbins, 96, of North Vernon died at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Jennings Health Care Center.
Funeral services were Monday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Anthony Sweeney officiating. Burial was in the Vernon Cemetery.
Mrs. Robbins, a 1934 graduate of Vernon High School, worked for the Jennings County License Branch for 15 years and previously worked for J. Mark Casey Furniture Store, Gumble's Store and Regal Rugs. She was a member of First Christian Church and Smiling Senior Citizens. Mrs. Robbins enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, going to church and spending time with her family.
Born July 31, 1916, Mrs. Robbins was the daughter of Will F. and Louvina Ziegler Randall. She married Cecil Archie Robbins on July 31, 1934 in Vernon and preceded her in death on November 17, 1993.
Survivors include her children, Charles William "Bill" (Linda) Robbins and Patricia Ellen (Bill) Robertson both of North Vernon; a sister, Stella Bauerle of North Vernon; six grandchildren, Charles Jeffrey (Jackie) Robbins of Greensburg, Charla K. (David) Nash of Westport, Cheryl L. Robbins and Amy E. (Troy) Lewis, both of North Vernon, Donald Allen (Andrea) Miles of Lancaster, California and Gregory D. Thompson of Scipio and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Robbins and Karen Miles and a granddaughter, Charlene Robbins.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County, First Christian Church or the Vernon High Scholarship Fund.
