Larry Lee Mix worked at Cummins for 43 years
Larry Lee Mix, 74, of Hope died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 2:21 a.m. at Our Hospice Inpatient Unit in Columbus.
Funeral services were Sunday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison with Rev. Ed Roberts officiating. Burial was in Carrollton I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, Kentucky.
Mr. Mix was a 1959 graduate of Central High School on Ryker's Ridge in Madison. He retired in 2007 after 43 years with Cummins Engine Company. He loved to drive the back roads and look at the beauty of nature and enjoyed history, raising cattle, collecting knives and cutting firewood.
Born July 3, 1939 in Carroll County, Kentucky, Mr. Mix was the son of Lawrence Walter and Ethel B. Morgan Mix. He married Norma Faye Callis on June 16, 1967 in Jefferson County and she survives.
Other survivors include a son, David Mix of Flat Rock; grandsons, John, Steven and Adam Mix; two sisters, Loretta Alene Kent of Madison and Imogene James of North Vernon and two brothers, Harold Mix of Seymour and Tommy (Mayme) Mix of Canaan.
Mr. Mix was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Mix and infant siblings, James, Sarah, Mona June and Agnes Mix.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Our Hospice Inpatient Unit through the funeral home.
