Walter E. Dryden, 65, of Madison had ties here
Walter E. "Chips" Dryden, 65, of Madison died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services were Tuesday at the Lytle Funeral Chapel in Madison.
Mr. Dryden, a 1966 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed in the maintenance department of Metaldyne. He also farmed on the family farm near Dupont. Mr. Dryden was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hayden. He loved Christmas and helping the needy, his family and taking his grandchildren on four-wheeler rides.
Born June 10, 1948 in Bedford, Mr. Dryden was the son of Elmer and Martha Carlock Dryden. He married Lisa Pickett on February 19, 1973 in Madison and she survives.
Other survivors include six children, Travis (Tina) Dryden of Hanover, Wesley and Bradley Dryden and Bambi (Scott) Shipman, all of Madison, Andrew Dryden of Seymour and Brandi (Adam) Bryant of Lillington, North Carolina; his mother of Madison; sister, Beth (Steve) Marshall of Madison and seven grandchildren, Reece, Miah, Ashlyn, Tatum, Addison, Emerson and Ellie.
Mr. Dryden was preceded in death by his father and sister, Annamarie Claghorn.
