Richard Salazar, 54, knew the joy of nature and work
Richard Salazar, 54, of Westport died 11:18 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
In following with Mr. Salazar's wishes, he was cremated and a memorial service was conducted Monday at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home and Crematory in Westport.
Mr. Salazar had worked for Overhead Door Company in Columbus and the Decatur County Highway Department. He loved the outdoors and working.
Born July 20, 1958 in San Jose, California, Mr. Salazar was the son of Frank Lerma and Rita Angela (Lopez) Salazar.
Survivors include his daughters, Angie Skinner and Amanda Salazar, both of North Vernon and Amber Salazar of Westport; sisters, Mary Lois Simione of Texas, Margaret Salazar of California, Socorro and Connie Wimer, both of Washington and Yolanda Wimer of California; brother, Frank Robert Salazar of New Mexico and grandchildren, Brandi and Ava South, Kayleb Salazar and Maddelyn Ogle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Joseph Salazar and his sister, Sylvia Wimer.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Leukemia Society.
