Beulah M. Meek, 97, a loyal member of church
Beulah M. Meek, 97, of Bicknell died Saturday May 18, 2013 at the Gentle Care Nursing Center at 7:15 a.m.
Funeral services will be celebrated Thursday May 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel in Bicknell with John McClure officiating. Burial will be in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Meek was a lifelong member of the Bicknell First Baptist Church.
Born April 9, 1916 in Daviess County, Mrs. Meek was the the daughter of William A and Pearl M Johnson Purcell. She married Delbert Duane Meek on July 26, 1937 and he preceded her in death on June 24, 2000.
Survivors include her children, Ronnie W. (Jeannie) Meek of Scipio, Mary Jane (Ron) Slater, of Owensville and Martha Anne "Marty" Meek of Vincennes; grandchildren, Rodney Meek, Julie Acalotto, Tammy Lynch, Robyn Coburn and Teresa Elliott; 16 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Meek was preceded in death by five brothers, Guy, Walter, George, Dewey and Charles Lee Purcell and two sisters in infancy.
