Vida Eudora Falin, 84, a lifelong homemaker
Vida Eudora Falin, 84, of North Vernon died at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Gary East officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 12 noon until time of the service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Mrs. Falin was a lifelong homemaker, former member of the Butlerville Baptist Church and a former member of the South Decatur Baptist Church. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky in 1946. She enjoyed reading the Bible, singing, playing guitar and piano, composing songs of worship and spending time with her family.
Born July 24, 1928 in Brodhead, Kentucky, Mrs. Falin was the daughter of Furman and Jettye Foley Jones. She married William Falin Sr. on August 7, 1952 in Jellico, Tennessee. He died in January of 1988.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce (Nancy) Falin of Jackson, Tennessee and William Falin Jr. of Dixon, Tennessee; daughter, Ann (Michael) Miles of North Vernon; two sisters, Naomi Hicks of Indianapolis and Sondra (Harry) Bowling of Aurora; seven grandchildren, Gwendolyn Owens, Diana Nichols and William Falin III, all of Dixon, Tennessee, Benjamin Miles of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sarah Reecer of Seymour, Joshua Falin of Oregon and Rebecca Darby of Greensburg and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Falin was preceded in death by brothers, Furman Jones Jr. and Lincoln Jones; a sister, Pauline Cottengim, and her grandson, Caleb Falin.
