Lela Dodson Crowe, 76, taught school here 33 years
Lela Dodson Crowe, 76, of Georgetown, Kentucky, died Sunday May 5, 2013 at Georgetown Community Hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services are Thursday at 1 p.m. at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home in Georgetown, Kentucky with Rev. Ray Roach officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Crowe was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church, Fields Sunday School Class, and retired as a teacher from Jennings County in 1993 after 33 years. She loved reading, gardening, and counted cross stitch projects.
Born in Wayne County, Kentucky on April 2, 1937, Mrs. Crowe was the daughter of Joie and Lizzie Dodson.
Survivors include her stepdaughter, Peggy (Everett) Angel of Georgetown, Kentucky; two step- nieces, Janet Irvine of Georgetown, Kentucky and Alanda Christian of Junction, Ohio; sister-in-law, Birdie Crowe and two sisters, Ruby Bell and Velda Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 20 years, Glenwood Crowe.
