Atlee Paul Kohlenberg, II loved nature and rocks
Atlee Paul Kohlenberg, II, 50, of Scipio died at 9:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 at his residence.
Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. There are no funeral services.
Mr. Kohlenberg, a 1980 graduate of North Central High School in Indianapolis, worked as system engineer for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus for 15 years. He was a former member of North Vernon Masonic Lodge #59, F. & A.M. Mr. Kohlenberg was an avid outdoorsman who loved anything with nature, especially rocks. He enjoyed playing tennis and guitar, reading, learning new things and taking on challenging tasks. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and being in the company of his close coworkers and friends.
Born April 14, 1962 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Mr. Kohlenberg was the son of Robert Atlee and Theresa B. Bergmann Kohlenberg. He married Noriko Toriumi on April 24, 2006 in Japan and she survives.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Michael Shepherd of Scipio; daughter, Tonya Shepherd of College Station, Texas and his mother, Theresa Kohlenberg of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Dana.
