Shania Johnson will be among the artists performing at the 13th annual Granville Johnson Music Festival at the Park Theatre on March 12. A North Vernon native who resides in Nashville, Tenn., she is the talented niece of the late Granville Johnson. Second annual 'Ruck March' set Saturday to benefit troops
In the fall of 2014, inspired by the service of a local State Trooper during a deployment in Afghanistan, a group of Jennings County residents came together to find a way to honor the sacrifice of local National Guard members and their families. With the guidance of an Indiana State Trooper, the group decided to organize a walk, ruck march, and run to raise money for organizations that support vets and those currently serving in the Indiana National Guard.

The Indiana Bicentennial Commission held its April meeting at the Columbus Visitor Center on April 8, 2016. There were more than 138 Legacy Projects approved this round, one of which is in Jennings County.

Join in this annual all-Brown County cooperative event-April 22-24, 2016 hiking, counting wildflowers, identifying Indiana flora and fauna on hikes, boat trips, and photography excursions. All hikes and programs are free, though some locations may have gate fees.  Some hikes and programs require pre-registration, and some of these programs and hikes fill up quickly! Players to present 'All the King's Men'
The Jennings County Players will perform the award-winning play "All the King's Men" at the Park Theater Civic Centre April 29, April 30 and May 1.
The drama is about the rise and fall of Willie Stark, who is the governor of a Southern state during the 1930s. The play follows the arc of Willie's rise to power and his subsequent demise.

The Muscatatuck Wildlife Society, the non-profit Friends Group of the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, is hosting a Family Fishing Workshop on Saturday, April 16, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The refuge is located on U.S. 50 west of Hayden.
