Granville's niece to perform
Shania Johnson will be among the artists performing at the 13th annual Granville Johnson Music Festival at the Park Theatre on March 12. A North Vernon native who resides in Nashville, Tenn., she is the talented niece of the late Granville Johnson. Model trains will be displayed at the Indy Convention Center
The world's largest collection of model train exhibits, products and accessories pulls into downtown Indianapolis at the Indiana Convention Center (100 S. Capitol Ave.) on Friday, July 8 through Sunday, July 10. Held in a different North American city each year, the 2016 Annual National Train Show will showcase all aspects of model railroading including the industry's newest and most unique products and services from manufacturers and retailers across the U.S. and around the world.

The latest release by the Indiana Historical Society (IHS) Press has everything families need to give summer travels a Bicentennial theme. Road Trip: A Pocket History of Indiana by Andrea Neal is a compilation of 100 historical essays with a twist. Each article on Indiana events and figures has a destination attached: a marker, monument, museum, park or annual event that Hoosiers can attend or visit to make the state's history come alive.

As always, the Farmers' Market in Jen­nings County is flourishing with a variety of different produce and vendors this time of year, as well as excited customers interested in buying fresh and local. State Fair tickets are available online now at a discounted rate of $8 plus transaction fees on the Indiana State Fair website, indianastatefair.com. Tickets can also be purchased at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum Box Office during regular business hours at the discounted rate. Tickets purchased at the gate are $12.
