Piano pumpin' time
By popular demand, Terry Lee and the Rockaboogie Band will return to North Vernon to perform at the Park Theatre Civic Centre at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 11. The group is known for putting on the "wildest piano pumpin' rock 'n' roll show since Jerry Lee Lewis," featuring musical genres of '50s rock 'n' roll, honky tonk, swing, rockabilly, rhythm and blues, boogie woogie and gospel. Tickets are $10 apiece.



Granville Johnson Music Festival
Over 300 music lovers packed into the Park Theatre Civic Center on March 14 for the 12th annual Granville Johnson Music Festival.
"What a another wonderful show for the community," said Mike Whitehead, a member of the nonprofit Park Theatre's board and one of the organizers of the event. "You can't beat the good music we had. It was great fun for fall."
The featured band was the Southern City Band, which includes North Vernon native Matt Thompson. The young country-and-western group formed in Boston where all of its members had attended or currently are students at the Berklee College of Music.

C. Byron Buckley will be in North Vernon on Friday, March 27, to sign his newest book, "The Mental Dynamics for Tennis and Life."
The former North Vernon resident, who now lives in Washington, Ind., will be at A Perfect Day Café from 4 to 6 p.m. to sign his book, copies of which will be available for sale at $10 apiece.
