Rumours, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, at the Park Theatre Civic Centre. Meltdown: Hot Blown Glass workshops
The Columbus Area Arts Council has announced the return of Meltdown: Hot Blown Glass workshops. The glass forming workshops will be held from Noon to 7 p.m. on Friday, September 11 and from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 12 at the corner of Fourth and Washington Streets in Columbus.

Jam fest at Bean Blossom Saturday

SICA ballet classes to start
Southern Indiana Center for the Arts ballet classes will begin in September. Classes are for ages five and up. "Youth classes are on Wednesday evenings, however, with enough interest a Monday class could be offered," stated Carin Spalla, instructor. "Adult classes that focus on classical ballet, stretching and core strengthening (not an aerobics class) will be held on Thursday mornings."

The Pinta and the Nina, replicas of Columbus' ships, will arrive in Louisville On Thursday, Aug. 27, at 1 p.m. The ships will be docked at Waterfront Park, 131 River Road, until their departure early Tuesday morning, Sept. 8.

Expert quilter Cindy Claycamp will teach How to Make a T-Shirt Quilt in a four part class from 6 to 8:15 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 1, 15, 22, and 29, at the Seymour Library. There is a limit of 12, and those interested must register and pick up a list of supplies at the Seymour Library Checkout Desk with a pre-payment of $10 by August 25.

The Columbus Indiana Philharmonic's Annual Meeting is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 24 at YES Cinema. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will feature John Wall as the keynote speaker.

Pie contest to fund flags for vets' graves
The Hayden Historical Museum will be holding its annual pie baking contest again this year as part of the Harvest Past Living History Day event Saturday, Sept. 5.
Contestants can bring one or more fruit pies to be judged to the Hayden Museum's kitchen anytime between 9 and 11 a.m. that day.
Judging will begin at 11 a.m. and the pies will be graded on appearance, as well as taste. Awards will be given for first-, second- and third-place pies. Volunteer auctioneer Tom Lawson will auction off the top three pies at noon in the pavilion. The other pie entries will be sliced and offered in exchange for a free-will donation.
