Granville's niece to perform
Shania Johnson will be among the artists performing at the 13th annual Granville Johnson Music Festival at the Park Theatre on March 12. A North Vernon native who resides in Nashville, Tenn., she is the talented niece of the late Granville Johnson. 4-H'ers dazzle in performing arts show
Youngsters showed their stage talents during the Jennings County 4-H Performing Arts competition held recently at the Park Theatre Civic Centre.
The event, for 4-H members and clubs, was hosted and sponsored by the Jennings County Junior Leaders' 4-H Club, Park Theatre and Melody Mart of Greensburg.
Fourteen acts performed and were judged in the categories of musical curtain act, non-musical curtain act and group act. The winners in each category plus three other acts advanced to the Area I Performing Arts competition held Friday, May 13, at East Central High School
