Husband learns via zip line who the real dare devil is in the family
It was on a trip to the Great Smokey Mountains with all of the great sights to see and things to do and places to go. There's the chair lift that goes up the side of one of the mountains and you sit in this chair and a bar goes across your lap to keep you in. Going up you're facing the mountain and coming down you're facing out so you can see the beautiful view. They have a lot of different types of shops and any kind of restaurant that one could think of.
In past years, we would at different times take the kids down to the Smokeys and we would drive the go-carts, go swimming, and go hiking.

Canaan Fall Festival marking its 'golden' festival year this weekend
The historic town of Canaan will host the 50th annual Canaan Fall Festival and the 48th annual Pony Express Mail Run will be Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12 and 13. The festival opens at 3 p.m. Friday. Country music will be played Friday evening and Canaan Fire Company's fish sandwiches will be available.

Children's craft program set
The Jackson County Public Library will offer a free children's craft program for ages five to 11 at 3:30 p.m. at the Medora Library and a free family craft program for all ages at 6 p.m. at the Crothersville Library Thursday, Sept. 18.

Bead it! and make some jewelry
The next meeting of BEAD!, a beading group that is free and open to the public, meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, in the Meeting Room at the Seymour Library.
During the program, participants can borrow tools, buy beads and jewelry parts at cost, Learn to bead and learn what supplies you need to purchase for further beading. No registration is required.

SICA invites you to enjoy wine while painting an autumn scene
Enjoy red foliage while creating your very own painting of fall.
Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, Seymour, has planned another Paint the Town social painting event pARTnering with Chateau de Pique Winery.
"October brings lots of people outdoors to view the colorful trees and that's what we had in mind with this painting," said instructor, Stephanie Mysak. "Participants do not have to have had prior painting experience or talent to join the fun. We'll provide all supplies and instructions to guide you thru your art work."

JC Players to present comedy
As the actors and actresses in the cast of the Jennings County Players' upcoming play "Mixed Nuts" rehearse their scenes, loud laughter and chuckles already seem to be emanating from the Park Theatre Civic Centre.
The community theatre group will present the production on the weekend of Sept. 12-14.
"Mixed Nuts" is an uproarious comedy in which an unusual and unexpected assortment of people interrelate with each other in zany ways.
