Fire destroys housing complex
Campbell Township Fire Chief Don Biehle joins other firemen in checking out the courtyard area of the aprtment/condo complex after the fire was pretty much contained. A huge, quick-moving fire leveled the Greenbriar Condominium complex in North Vernon Monday morning, barely giving residents enough time to escape. "We were extremely fortunate," said Dave Gerth, Jennings County EMS director. "It's miraculous no one was hurt who lived there, not even from smoke inhalation. "We did have to treat a couple of firefighters and police officers with oxygen, but nothing major," he added. The complex on Woodlawn Drive has 12 residential units.
